Courses
EXPLORING ESSENTIAL INSIGHTS ▪︎
This course explored the distinct roles of business, information systems, and technology professionals. I learned about key trends, including Moore's Law, the integration of computing into everyday life, and the sociotechnical nature of information systems. I also learned about strategic planning, analytics, and value creation in the digital age, emphasizing adaptability and ethical considerations.
One of the main takeaways from this course for me was learning about the systemic effects (ripple effects) that take place when there is a change in any one element of the sociotechnical system of an organization. The interdependent nature of the social and technical systems highlighted the need for decisions to be thought out carefully, and to consider the far-reaching unintentional ramifications that could occur.

POLITICAL COMMUNICATION ▪︎
This course delved into the rhetorical situation, emphasizing the use of logos, ethos, and pathos in persuasive communication, with a focus on aligning with American values.
The course involved analyzing demographic trends and conducting rhetorical analyses of historical speeches, revealing connections between past and present societal issues and highlighting the enduring aspects of human nature.
Ultimately, it underscored the challenge of addressing persistent societal problems.
INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION ▪︎

It applied these principles to various contexts, including pop culture's impact on communication and managing intercultural relationships.
Additionally, it involved an in-depth study of Laos, highlighting the importance of nonverbal communication and its relevance to neurodivergent individuals.
